This blog is about history, for people who love history. My aim is to make history understandable and accessible to everyone because, let's face it, sometimes picking up a big ass history book isn't as much fun as Tumblr!

This blog covers many different periods, from the fall of the Roman Empire in 410AD to World War 2, from the codification on the American constitution in 1787 to the present day.

I don't just look at facts, or political history. I also like to look at history of fashion, literature, art and music - so yes, the odd band will pop up every so often! This wide look on different aspects of a rich history means there is something that even the less enthusiastic will find something they like on this blog.

This is a bomb used by British soldiers in the First World War. It worked on a timer device, in which as soon as the pin was released, it would detonate in seven seconds. However, this soon appeared to be too long as it gave the Germans time to throw the bomb back. Therefore, the time was reduced to four seconds.
