This blog is about history, for people who love history. My aim is to make history understandable and accessible to everyone because, let's face it, sometimes picking up a big ass history book isn't as much fun as Tumblr!

This blog covers many different periods, from the fall of the Roman Empire in 410AD to World War 2, from the codification on the American constitution in 1787 to the present day.

I don't just look at facts, or political history. I also like to look at history of fashion, literature, art and music - so yes, the odd band will pop up every so often! This wide look on different aspects of a rich history means there is something that even the less enthusiastic will find something they like on this blog.

If you would like to get to know me, pop into the ask box or follow my personal blog (drop me an ask and I'll link you up). Also, please submit your facts of photos from an era, I will give you credit and it will be really nice hearing from my followers. The Capitoline Brutus suggests Ancient Romans were not philosophical characters like the Ancient Greeks, but hard men interested in reality, war, business and politics. It is thought to date from the early republic, possibly a leader. It shows a certain level sophistication and realism in the art form.
